New Bar: Southpaw
Gertrude Street continues to be revived with another new bar, Southpaw, in bustling Fitzroy according to the Deck of Secrets team. "With original bluestone walls, arched doorway and a stained glass window, the cavernous fit-out of this latest Fitzroy bar addition gives way to a comfy, unpretentious vibe. Awesome party down therew on Sunday- live band was well worth checking out. Good spot.
Went there twice last week by pure coincidence - friends birthday on Thursday, perfect vibe for intimate groups, espresso martinis rock!! Then again on Sunday for the massive plate of BBQ goodness for $10, cheap longnecks and sunny courtyard - going back next Sunday for sure!
Very,very cool. Great atmosphere and drinks list. Loved the small-order menu.
